Uttar Pradesh is on the brink of a technological revolution, thanks to a visionary project led by Darshan Hiranandani and his company, Tarq Semiconductors Private Limited. As part of the Hiranandani Group, Tarq Semiconductors has applied under the Indian Semiconductor Mission Scheme to establish cutting-edge assembly, testing, and packaging (ATP) plants in the state. This move aims to make Uttar Pradesh a central player in the semiconductor manufacturing sector, contributing to India’s self-sufficiency and boosting its global presence in the semiconductor supply chain.

Semiconductor Manufacturing: A Strategic Imperative for India

The importance of semiconductors in today’s world cannot be overstated. From the latest smartphones to electric vehicles, these tiny chips are critical to modern life. However, the pandemic revealed vulnerabilities in global semiconductor supply chains, highlighting the urgent need for India to reduce its reliance on foreign semiconductor suppliers. The Indian government’s Semiconductor Mission is a response to this challenge, and Tarq Semiconductors is poised to play a pivotal role in realizing this vision by setting up a world-class ATP facility in Uttar Pradesh.

Phased Approach to Growth and Employment Generation

The ambitious project will unfold in multiple phases. The first phase involves constructing an ATP facility for legacy semiconductor technologies, with an investment of Rs 2,500 crore. This first phase is expected to be completed in 24 months, followed by the establishment of additional plants for more advanced semiconductor technologies. In total, the initiative is expected to generate thousands of jobs, with the first phase alone creating 1,000 direct employment opportunities. This will not only provide jobs but will also catalyze the growth of ancillary industries, further boosting Uttar Pradesh's economy.

A Long-Term Commitment to Uttar Pradesh's Development

Hiranandani Group’s commitment to Uttar Pradesh is long-term and multifaceted. Beyond the semiconductor project, the group has been actively involved in strengthening the state's digital infrastructure through ventures like Yotta Data Services Pvt. Ltd. Darshan Hiranandani’s decision to initiate this transformative semiconductor venture in Uttar Pradesh reflects his belief in the state’s strategic advantages, including its location, skilled workforce, and pro-business government policies. This project is set to position Uttar Pradesh as a significant player in India’s push for self-reliance in semiconductor manufacturing.

Through the establishment of a state-of-the-art semiconductor ATP center, Darshan Hiranandani and Tarq Semiconductors are leading the charge in reshaping India’s semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem. This ambitious project will not only strengthen the country's technological capabilities but will also contribute to Uttar Pradesh’s growth as a major industrial hub.
